Camp Kitchen – Camping Trailer with Kitchen. This Camp Kitchen trailer is a professionally built one-off special design to really enhance your camping experience. It is essentially a portable kitchen with fridge, cooker, running water and kitchen essentials in drawers with the added bonus of a self-contained solar powered electric console providing 12V, USB & 240v power. As an option, the domain name’campkitchen’ and logo is available if anyone would like to pursue this as a business venture. Basically, it is a lightweight but strong trailer built on a steel frame with plastic coated ply for the body which has been designed on the classic teardrop trailer shape. There is a side door access to the front of the trailer to house all your camping gear and also give access to the leisure battery & electrics. On the top of the body is a solar panel providing charge to the leisure battery which in turn powers the lights, 240v power sockets, water pump, usb sockets and auxiliary 12v sockets. The energy display panel in the kitchen area shows the power provided by the solar panel and the power used but the battery so you can always ensure the battery has adequate charge. At the rear of the trailer is the kitchen area which houses a 2 ring gas cooker, electric supply console, kitchen drawers for all your essentials, 2 x extending work surfaces, an electric tap for running water and of course the all important fridge which runs from gas/12v/240v. The fridge is designed to work from the same gas bottle that supplies the cooker and works really efficiently from gas, which is ideal for camping with no electric hook up. It even produces ice! There are some LED coloured lights on the trailer lid that light up the work area and create a great atmosphere in the evening. The Camp Kitchen has been used on a couple of trips to test it out and ensure it performs well, which it does. It tows well and is really easy to manoeuvre around on the campsite. The kitchen works a treat and ensures you are ready to make a cuppa or have a cold beer with minutes of arriving without needing to unpack everything. It was really designed so that you just arrive, set-up the tent and everything else is taken care of and when you get home it can be stored in the garage ready for the next trip with everything already packed. It proved very popular on site and was a great hit with the kids charging all the devices from the powerful solar system.
