Have the SCCA logbooks and number plates for all 3 chassis’. Contact me directly at vintage_british at yahoo. Here are the details. Race Ready Lola T640 (#HU-14). I bought this car last year and then raced it twice last season. I have always raced in Production and this is my first open wheel car. It was a SCCA Club Ford racer previously. Have the logbooks with documented history. Has the new Hoosier FF spec treaded tires released just last year and brand new Panasport rims. Raced two race weekends on tires and wheels since pulled out of storage last year. This car had previously was sat in storage for 12 years with the previous owner after race prep by Front Range Motorsports in Denver. It was a father/son racing venture where dad was the crew chief. But the son left the state, and with no one to race with, the car sat idle. That is when I bought all that is listed for sale here. Mechanically sound dry sump 1600 Kent motor with Weber carb and header. Appears to be all in spec. Hours on motor are unknown but it runs great. Runs down the track with no issues with shifting, steering or braking. After racing a Triumph TR4 for years, my Triumph race buddies were in awe as I could come back into the garage, check my tire temps and pressures, and sit down until the next race. 3 GoPro videos of my first race weekend where I was sorting the car are on YouTube (search for “Lola 640 HPR”). In viewing the videos, you will see that I needed to change the gear sets for this longer track. It was previously set up for Second Creek which was a shorter track and was closed years ago. I was in 2nd, 3rd and 4th at High Plains Raceway while other FF/CF cars used 1st, 2nd and 3rd most of the time. This is a purpose built Lola race car by one of the best builders of our time. Has an on board electronic fire suppression system, inboard adjustable coil over shocks, CV joints, brake bias adjuster, and center lock hubs. Adjustable sway bars front and rear. AMD transponder on board. New 5 point racing harness installed last year. New 12 pound battery last month. In terms of body panels, they could use minor repairs and repaint and new body fasteners. Also, just bought a set of Spa style mirrors for a wider rear field of view. Lola T640 (#HU-3): Being chassis number 3, I expect this is one of the earliest, if not the earliest Lola 640 registered (or in existence) in the U. The Lola Heritage site shows HU-8 as the earliest registered. The chassis has been repainted and new floor panels installed. Hewland Mk9 gearbox has axles, uprights and rear adjustable coilover shocks attached. Gearbox was rebuilt by Front Range Motorsports around 2007 but not used since. Most parts appear to be there to build this car (can’t find the gas tank, but I expect a new one is in order). One of the front uprights is broken and will need to be replaced. There is a Lola reseller in the UK that can cast new uprights since they acquired all the designs/schematics or a search may find another owner willing to sell one. The plus is you have a “go-by” with the other T640 car to use a template to build this car. Fiberglass body panels are there but need to be restored/repaired (shown in pics). Will need new stainless steel panels on the sides, radiator pipe and a few other things. Have a new nose cone as well (gray color in pics). Lola T644 Chassis (#HU-17): Bare chassis in case you need it. I ran out of picture space (limited to 24) so if you want a picture of this chassis, please contact me and we will figure out a way to get you one or two. Comes with original 16 original Compomotive wheels/older slicks plus extra center sections, additional nose cones/tails, Hewland gear sets, Formula Ford quick lift hand jack, 2 gas jugs, extra wishbones and brake parts, and other parts that will come in handy at the track. Custom 2 Car Open Stacker Trailer: The previous owner told me that this trailer was owned by Danny Collins. He was heavily involved in SCCA racing in Colorado, and turn 6 at new High Plains Raceway is named after him (Danny’s Lesson). You lower the top ramp, load the first car, raise it up with the electric winch, and then load the second car underneath. I trailered it home but have never loaded cars on it. Winch is in a box in the garage. It will need paint. Tires and spare have good tread. I rewired it last year to a 4 prong. It does not have or need electric brakes given the weight of formula cars and trailer. Michael Andretti raced in Lola T640s (Chassis HU-18 was one of them) as did many others racers today. Being one of the earliest T640s, I wonder who the lucky person was that raced this competitively back in the day. If you have any history on HU-3, please let me know. I expect there is a lot of interest in the parts as well as the cars. I have thoughts on how to cost effectively get these cars over the pond. I could tack on some box steel to secure everything as well as use straps. These cars belong at Brands Hatch! I may end this listing early as the car(s) also for sale locally or if I receive a reasonable offer. Also, if you don’t have permission from your wife, then please get that in advance.
