For sale is a overland camping trailer chassis. CAD designed and professionally built by an engineering company. This was going to be built very similar to the Patriot Campers X1 etc as shown in the last picture. This has been fully galvanised and zinc coated with independent adjustable suspension arms on discovery 2 air bags. Comes with trailer braked hubs with defender 165.1 PCD and defender steel wheels running 235/75/15 Michelin Latitude Cross Tyres which are part worn. (Road legal, just used for moving it around before deciding on the final tyre set). This was originally designed to fit defender rear springs, however I have how engineered this now to use discovery 2 air bags as seen. The trailing arms use defender bushes for easy replacement, and also has been engineered to adjust the toe in or out on the wheels. This has also been designed to accommodate shocks, which you can fit your own chosen shocks once you know your length of travel wanted as the air bag suspension makes it adjustable for the weight and was going to be decided once fully built. The top mount for the discovery 2 air bags could ideally need welding in and painted to finish that section however I’m not happy with my welding skills for this yet so I’ve simply bolt in an under plate for now. Comes with two plates to weld in. 3.8m long from rear to coupling and 1.7m wide. Also features a defender rear chassis at the rear of the trailer so is fully customisable with defender accessories. Can be towed away, however not IVA tested yet and the brakes have not been fully fitted and adjusted, however given the very little weight of the trailer currently this isn’t an issue. This is incredibly sad sale on my behalf however my circumstances have now changed and this must now go. This is now a perfect foundation to build into your own camper of your choosing and being on air suspension, will tow like a dream. Here for sale is our collapsable Overland/Expedition Trailer with Roof top tent. We have really enjoyed this set up and is great for extended stays. But are going down a different route. The trailer itself is based on a. King traiload tg1300 trailer, almost identical to a sankey trailer and I still have the NATO hitch. The specs are as follows. 1’6 side rear tail gate. It has side drop down support legs for stabilisation and tie down support points. It has also been extended to add the front locker section which houses the battery, which operates the winch to move the tent up and down on the custom frame. This allows for easy access to the tent cover and unpacking before raising up. It also means that the tent is kept lower when towing to reduce drag. It does have quite a few paint chips and could do with repainting if wanting it to look new however, we liked the rugged look. The tyres have barely been used and are 6.5 – 16 British size, (about a 30inch diameter) mud tyre. Please note, due to the tyre size and hitch height, it does require a relatively tall vehicle. I have towed this with my saab and was fine with nothing else in the car as it is fairly lightweight but I do not recommend. At maximum height on my Landcruiser hitch, it just about sits level (Shown in middle position). Included with the Tent is the following camping equipment. Kempa Geyser Hot Water System. Smev Twin Hob and Sink with Shower Attachment. The tent is an Overland by autohome Bordeaux Model and is in really good condition. It is a 2 man tent and very easy to set up and down. It has only been used a couple of times as it we swapped it with our other Tent which we will be keeping. Comes with mattress, sheets and 2 pillows with Covers. Happy to give demonstration to potential buyers of the collapsable system and other viewings welcome. Amazing overland expedition trailer with roof top tent and awning…. 2x water containers, Gas bottle. Complete set up ready to go, all you need to add is camping chairs and your choice of drinks. A Conqueror expedition trailer, made in South Africa. It is complete with roof top tent, undertent and 360 degree awning, all heavy duty rip stop canvas / poly cotton canvas by Conqueror, complete with all poles, pegs, ropes and storage bags. Large roof rack when tent is packed down, with three bike racks. Large trestle table with fixed storage under tent. Large storage area under tent with gas struts. Two large onboard water tanks. Ladder and fixed ladder storage. Hi lift jack storage point, the jack is seized up so will need replacing. Fold out rear kitchen with storage. Minus 40 12v Fridge on slide. About 16 years ago by my neighbour, he used it in S. Just normal camping, not used for about 6 years, it was all working when last used. The leisure battery will probably need replacing, I fully charged it but it’s dropped down to just under 12volts, the Hella sockets all work but would benefit from a clean as the brass contacts are a little green from oxidisation, particularly the fridge socket, all due to lack of use. The Minus 40 fridge is working well, cools down very quickly and the stainless interior is very clean. There is a little bit of loose stitching on the Velcro straps which hold the undertent, otherwise just a few marks to the canvas from use. It has a massive awning which is about 6 metres square, this attaches to the top of the tent and covers the whole tent and surrounding area to give a huge covered living area, I didn’t have enough room to put this out, but it’s all in good condition with all poles. The 240v system powers up ok but has round pin sockets so it is untested. The trailer light plug is a combined charging / light plug and I haven’t got a socket to test it so I have put on a new set of magnetic lights and plug. If I were going to keep this I would check the running gear, tyres, electrics and a little bit of tidying up here and there. I can’t imagine there are many of these over here and make no mistake this is a serious bit of kit, one of the meanest camping trailers around, everything is heavy duty, solid, made to last and take some serious punishment, with all the accessories this is a complete camping set up. Trailer has been tested and tows great on and off road. Made from a Sankey wide track trailer chassis which was shot blasted before being painted with 3 coats of black chassis paint. The body is made from a 4mm galvanised steel and is a solid tank with no frame. Painted land rover bronze green and the under side has been coated and under sealed. Lid is made from 3mm aluminium chequer plate and has twin gas struts to enable it to be easily lifted even with a load strapped to the load bars. Lid is held shut by two catches that can be locked with pad locks. Rear door opens to form a work surface and the rear kitchen area includes a gas cooker, water tap (pumps supplies water from side mounted jerry can) and 12v control panel (2 switches for lights 1 for water pump and three spare). Fed from 90amp/hr leisure battery. The front of the trailer is a large carpeted storage area with engineered wood floor for your table chairs etc. Both kitchen and storage area are fitted with LED lights. There is also 4 socket 240v power supply which is fitted with a safety cut out and is fed from an external socket (short power lead included). NOTE: This trailer has a NATO towing eye and will need a suitable tow hitch. The Roof Top Tent is a Tuff Trek TT02 1.4m wide with ample space for a couple plus maybe a small child. The tent has been modified to include strips of LED lights both sides. Here is a very rare chance to own a Kanga expedition trailer imported from Australia. These trailer tents are designed for proper off-roading and are extremely sturdy and robust as well as practical and looking the part! The living space inside this trailer tent is huge! You could easily comfortably fit two full families inside! There is a huge bed with mattress that sits above the trailer and is extremely comfortable. There is space for multiple camp beds as well as a foldout stainless steel kitchen which folds out from the rear of the trailer. The first part of the tent unfolds directly from the trailer, the bed stays in situ the entire time. Once the first part of the tent is up you then open the back of the trailer and take out the awning which fits to the side of the trailer on the already put up tent making the space doubled in size and also making a stainless steel kitchen then in the second part the tent. The trailer itself acts as a huge storage area and the entire top of the tent when still folded down lifts up on huge gas struts allowing you access to all of your camping equipment and supplys. The trailer itself tows extremely well and even fully loaded is under 750 KG which has been tested on a Weybridge. There is also a very handy lockable storage box in checker plate on the front of the trailer, as well as a brand-new spare wheel and tyre. As you can see on the side of the trailer it has 2 fuel storage cans and a water tank. In some of the pictures the trailer appears only black and in others you can see its black and yellow. This is because at the end of this season is has been fully repainted to the black and yellow colours you can see in two of the pictures, so it is completely freshly painted and looks amazing. All of the rest of the pictures were taken at the end of this season so are not years old like some would post, they are fresh pictures, the tent has also been freshly re-waterproofed this year and again is in extremely good condition. Thanks for looking at this listing for my sankey based overland/ expedition trailer. All I did was add the roof tent, roof tent lifting structure and wrap around awning for 3 years of more sedate family camping. The trailer itself started life as a sankey trailer which was stripped down and the chassis was powder coated. The body of the trailer is steel with a wooden internal structure. The trailer roof can be removed and allows access to the internal structure if you want to do any changes – you may not, the guy that had this made thought about it and the layout is good. The rear of the body houses the kitchen area (as seen in the pictures) and features storage shelves, a large draw, a pull out worktop and a fold down two ring gas cooker. Underneath the worktop is a long but shallow storage area that is big enough to take two camping chairs and a camping table that seats four adults. The middle compartment of the body is the main storage area and also holds the 9kg gas cylinder. It holds all of our sleeping bags, thermorests, camp cots – basically everything a family of four need (being as 3 of the family are girls and don’t travel light that’s quite a lot). The front compartment holds the leisure battery, electric controls, a pull out draw that was designed for a full on overland fridge and has space for lots more storage. The trailer has cables for a split charge system which allows the leisure battery to be changed on the move. The leisure battery powers LED lighting in each compartment of the trailer. I will say now that I do not have a split charge system on my landrover (as I was not planning a trip to Botswana; I just use my old electric hook up cable when I go camping) so I cannot vouch for the system – however, it did all work when I brought it. For stability i added three heavy duty adjustable legs to the chassis and, when combined the chocks, offers a very stable platform even in strong winds. In addition to the main trailer body there is the roof tent and wrap around awning. The roof tent was made by Direct 4X4 and this was second hand to me. The heavy duty cover does have scuffs and abrasions and is discoloured due to sunlight but the tent itself is in excellent condition – the’top tent’ is brilliant, is completely waterproof and sleeps 2 adults or 3 kids. The awning that zips to the top tent is what I would call showerproof although this can be treated with Fabsil or similar products. The awning is in great condition and is large enough for the wife and I to sleep in (seen in the pics) on quite large cots. As the roof tent was designed to be mounted on a land rover discovery, when I initially tried to mount it on the trailer it was too low to allow the awning to hang correctly. To rectify this i had a local fabricator build me a stand up frame that, when deployed, allows the awning to hang at the correct height but also allows the tent to be lowered to lower the center of gravity when towing. The wrap around awning was brand new. It can be deployed with or without the sides depending on the weather. It has 4 doorways with mosquito nets, access flap to the side of the trailer and access flap to the kitchen area of the trailer. It should be noted that there is a gap between the flap of the tent and the kitchen area. Good when you are cooking to give ventilation but does allow the rain in. Also fitted to the trailer are two jerry can holders complete with water jerry cans and a small toolbox. There is also another towing hook at the rear of the trailer; I use this to mount my Thule bike rack. You should also note this trailer has a NATO towing eye and will require a NATO towing hitch. It pains me to sell this trailer as I have invested time and effort to get it the way I want but the kids are getting older and I’m not getting any younger.
